Petrol price increased by Rs 1.35 per liter from November 1

The federal government of Pakistan has announced an increase in petrol price by Rs 1.35 per liter, which will be effective from today, November 1, 2024, for the next fortnight.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the new price of petrol has now increased from Rs 247.03 to Rs 248.38 per liter.

Notably, the price of High Speed ​​Diesel (HSD) has also been increased by Rs 3.85 per liter. The new price is now Rs 255.14 per liter, up from Rs 251.29.

Meanwhile, the prices of several other petroleum products have been reduced. The price of light diesel oil has been reduced by Rs 2.61 from Rs 150.12 to Rs 147.51 per liter. The new price of kerosene has been reduced from Rs 163.02 to Rs 161.54.

Today fuel prices in Pakistan

Earlier, on October 1, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 2.07 per liter for the next fortnight, bringing the prices down from Rs 249.10 to Rs 247.03 per liter. Oil and gas are key components in meeting 79 percent of Pakistan’s energy needs.

The price hike will have a significant impact on the country’s middle and lower classes. Pakistan, already under the pressure of climate change, is set to see rising prices and volatility in international markets put increasing economic pressure on citizens.
